Women transformed at church conference

Last update - Thursday, May 14, 2009, 12:04 By Louise Browne

‘The Transformed Wo-man’ was the topic of the day as worshippers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) attended last Saturday’s annual women’s conference at the national Jesus Centre in Bluebell, Dublin.

“Transformation must come from the heart, the mind and through the power of the holy spirit,” said guest of honour and main speaker, Pastor Folu Adeboye. “This is the year of the wise, this is your year, and this year you have to change because God is looking for a transformed woman…”
She continued: “I pray that you should be wise, that your hearts and minds are cleansed and transformed to be loyal… It is time to forgive and forget, you are still standing and it’s time to be wise in the presence of God.”
Pastor Adeboye – fondly known as Mummy G.O. – was welcomed by the church’s Good Women Fellowship Ireland at a packed venue with conference goers standing, rejoicing and singing along to the RCCG choir.
The pastor spoke of women’s loyalty, integrity and love as vital components of the transformation of Ireland’s women within the RCCG.
“Transformed women of Ireland, we are going to go forward… to receive the Holy Spirit and love others,” she said. “Where there is love there will be no death. United we stand, divided we fall. We must be women of integrity.”
Pastor Adeboye also addressed the importance of women within the church: “I believe it will not be too long until many of you come into the ministry – this is my joy. In Nigeria now we have well over 40,000 women in the ministry.”
Church members had travelled from 74 parishes around Ireland to attend the event and participate in lectures and discussions on topics such as finances, health, and relationships.
