Want to see live international basketball?

Last update - Thursday, August 23, 2007, 00:00 By Metro Éireann

TICKETS for the only European Championship qualifying game that Ireland’s men’s senior international basketball team will play at home are being snapped up quickly.

However, Metro Eireann has teamed up with Basketball Ireland to offer one lucky reader the opportunity to see Ireland go head-to-head against Switzerland on Saturday 25 August, live and in person at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

Ireland’s opponents, Swit-zerland, were victorious by just two points in the last meeting between the two nations, but Ireland head coach Greg Gurr will be hoping to see his team make the ideal start to their bid to secure qualification for the Euro finals, in what promises to be a riveting encounter.

The Ireland squad that Gurr will be selecting from has been named as Mihajlo Pesic, David Mitchell, Emmet Donnely, Ian O’Boyle, Isaac Westbrooks, Michael Bree, Paul Cummins, Colin O’Reilly, Liam Farrell, Conor Grace, Stephen King and Jason Killeen.

To win two tickets for this exciting clash, just answer this simple question:

Last week, in our 16-22 August edition, we reported that two of the biggest names in Irish basketball are set to take part in a new video aimed at ridding sport of racism. Who are those two players?

Send your answers with your name and contact details before Friday 24 August to competition@metroeireann.com
