Walking in the path of financial fortune: Part 3

God prospers His people through the following avenues:
The works of your hands: If you are not a worker, you are not a candidate for God’s prosperity. God cannot bless an idle hand, no matter how fervent he is at giving (Psalms 1:3; Proverbs 14:23, 10:4, 20:4). Abraham was a hard worker (Genesis 13:1-2); Isaac was a tireless worker (Genesis 26; 1-14); Jacob a creative worker (Genesis 30:37-43).
The flow of divine ideas: In response to our tithes and offerings, God opens the windows of Heaven and pours out the rain of divine ideas upon His people. This rain is typified by the Holy Spirit quickening our minds with creative ideas that links us up with the flow of blessings (Malachi 3:8-12; Isaiah 11:1-3; Genesis 26:18; Genesis 30:37-39). Remember, the Spirit of God is the Spirit of wisdom and wisdom is a vital force for wealth creation – the wiser, the wealthier.
Divine favour (Exodus 3, 12:36, 21; Psalms 105:37): Divine favour is required because there is nothing you are doing that has not been done before even better; it is the factor of favour that distinguishes you. It is favour that covers your errors and colours your effort. It is favour that turns your obvious mistakes into inventions that you cannot explain. Receive that favour today in the name of Jesus. At the root of financial fortune is divine favour.

How to maintain the flow of financial prosperity
Now that we are acquainted with the channels of divine blessing leading us to financial fortune, it is imperative to know how to keep the channels open the moment we start to experience open Heaven.
One time, the president of Singapore was asked how he turned the fortunes of his country around, and his response was said to be: “We did some things right and we keep doing them.” That response is simply saying that you don’t change a winning formula.
Jesus said: “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). There is no occasion to turn back. If you turn your back on what brings the blessing, the blessing will turn back as well.
If you want to maintain the flow of financial prosperity, be prepared to do the following:

Be committed to kingdom investment (Haggai 1:3-11): “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures” (Job 36:11). “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).
Be committed to blessing the needy: “He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. (Proverbs 28:27). “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty” (Proverbs 11:24). “Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness” (2 Corinthians 9:10) ; “I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Be steadfast in your Covenant practise: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). “Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come” (Acts 26:22).

What else is there to do? Identify covenant opportunities around you for investment (Job 29:4-17). Commit to meeting such needs as you are able (1 Peter 4:11). Enlarge your heart and increase your investment as you see increases in your life – Deuteronomy 16:10, 17).
A kingdom-centred life, living for the well-being of others, is key to maintaining the flow of God’s blessings in our lives. By doing so you have changed levels financially already in the name of Jesus. It’s surely your season of sudden visitation! Jesus is Lord!
