Top taekwon-do talent brings home the medals

Last update - Sunday, September 1, 2013, 15:25 By Metro Éireann

A student of St Patrick's College in Drumcondra has returned home from the 2013 Unified Taekwon-Do Open World Championships with a medal haul.

Neidin Coulahan, from Cabra in north Dublin, won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal at the the World Championships, held in London last month.

Coulahan, who is graduating from St Patrick's in November with a BA in Human Development and Gaeilge, has practiced taekwon-do since she was 12 years old and has always shown a keen interest and ability in the sport.

Ahead of the World Championships, Coulahan says she trained as many as four days a week - a big commitment particularly as she had to study for her final exams at the same time. But the hard work certainly paid off for her.
