Sounds in the city at Northside Music Festival

Last update - Thursday, July 23, 2009, 12:46 By Metro Éireann

Dublin City Council’s Arts Office is delighted to present the third annualNorthside Music Festival, offering a programme of free, diverse music events across the north of the city, both indoors and outdoors.

This year the festival will run from 21 July to 16 August and will feature a wealth of Irish and international talent. Many of the venues are unique in that they do not usually host professional musicians, such as St Pappan’s Church in Santry, Carleton Hall in Marino and Sean O’Casey Community Centre in East Wall, along with Dublin city parks and civic spaces. This year’s Northside Music Festival will also feature a workshop programme for young people in association with the Big Bang Festival.
The festival is part of Dublin City Council’s Arts office extended arts service to city communities. There really is something for everyone, with a range of musical talent across a range of cultures.
Admission to all performances is free. A full programme of events is available from the arts office at 01 222 7305 or annmarie.lyons@dublincity.ie or online at www.dublincity.ie (search: Northside Music Festival).
