This week’s recipe is sooji halwa. It is a dessert pudding made with semolina, and is very quick and easy to prepare. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 cup coarse semolina coarse
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tbsp ghee or clarified butter
For flavouring:
- 1 tsp green cardamom powder
- Dry roasted nuts for garnishing
Method
Fry the semolina in a pan, adding 1tsp ghee, on a low flame.
Boil the milk in a saucepan, then add the semolina, sugar and ghee. Next add the cardamom powder and dry roasted nuts.
Cook till the mixture thickens and comes off the edges of the saucepan. Then pour into a greased plate and cut into any desired shape when it cools down.
