Masala chai – spiced, sweetened black tea mixed with milk – is a traditional soothing and warming drink from India, now popular all around the world. Just sit back, relax and enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 cup of water
2 tsp black tea leaves
1 cup milk
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground ginger
(Makes 2 cups)

Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add the tea leaves, cover and let them steep for a few minutes.
Heat the milk in another small saucepan. Add the spices and sugar and continue heating for further 2-3 minutes.
Mix the tea with the warm milk and strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a warmed teapot or directly into teacups. Enjoy!
