Re: Goodbye Michael Jackson

Last update - Thursday, July 9, 2009, 12:02 By Metro Éireann

It was like the wind stood still when on that fateful evening of Thursday 25 June 2009, the news filtered through about the death of the ‘King of Pop’,

Michael Jackson. It was unbelievable to his numerous fans all over the world, but it is a reality that has come to stay.
Since his passing, there have been numerous comments about the life of this most popular of musicians. Many of these comments were positive about the music he made and the talent he displayed; many others were negative about his lifestyle and his self-mutilation through plastic surgery.
But whatever people may speculate about him, it is clear that Michael Jackson will live on through the millions of fans and admirers of his music. And that is something worth reflecting upon in this age of celebrity.
In life and death, Michael Jackson made a significant impact on the world that cannot be denied. And as he is laid to rest, I would like to extent an invitation to all his fans, and even those who say they are not, to take stock from the positive aspects of his life.
It is good to remember that life is worth living when lived in God’s light, because after work comes rest.
