This week I want to share a sweet called rava laddoo, made with semolina. It’s a very interesting item for lunch boxes. Hope you’ll like it!
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/2 cup coconut, desiccated or grated fresh
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 green cardamom powder
- Evaporated milk
- Cashews and raisins, fried in a little ghee, to garnish
Method
Toast the semolina and coconut separately, adding 1 tbsp of ghee each till they turn a little brown. Pour them in a mixing bowl.
When the mixture cools down, add the sugar, nuts and cardamom powder and mix well.
Heat the evaporated milk and pour on the mixture.
Then make small balls out of the mixture Don’t worry about the consistency; initially the balls will be soft.
They will set in 10-15 minutes, and are then ready to eat.
