A POLISH health clinic on Dublin’s Parnell Street claims it can eradicate addictions to alcohol and nicotine in just three sessions.
The Bio-Med Centre, a newly opened therapy unit on 137 Parnell Street just above Polmed Medical Care, says nicotine and alcohol addicts can be treated in ‘three short sessions’ based on the bio-resonance method, a reputed alternative medicine.
“Imagine restoring your mobile to factory settings,” said Leszek Spracel, one of the company’s owners.
“This is how it works. The body is entirely cleared out of toxins. First, the main treatment takes 14 minutes and after that you do not feel the need to smoke or drink anymore. Then a short break and another treatment – the whole thing takes about half an hour.”
The results are gauged through phone calls, he says. “We had a case of light drugs addiction – the man was taking them for four years and stopped after three treatments. We get feedback, so we are sure of our effectiveness.”
The Bio-Med Centre was originally based in Czestochowa in Poland, and the idea to open the surgery in Ireland arose two years ago but has only recently come to fruition.
“I was shocked by the amount of alcohol that Irish people drink, even Germans don’t drink that much,” said Spracel.
“I was also stuck by drug use – after witnessing some terrible scenes in the neighbourhood of Parnell Street, I would be afraid to walk there after dark. I am sure what we do is badly needed there.
“This therapy is too cheap for Ireland,” he suggested. “Look, a pack of cigarettes costs some €8.50, so our cost is like ten packets. This is no cost for getting rid of the addiction.”
After opening the Dublin unit, plans are afoot for three others in Limerick, Galway and Belfast.
