Soccer’s world governing body has launched a competition asking fans to predict who will face host nation Brazil in the group stage of next summer’s World Cup.
The contest running on the Fifa website closes on 5 December, with the top prize of a trip for two to the final of the tournament at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Winners will be announced during the final draw for Brazil 2014 on Wednesday 6 December when the 32 qualifying teams will be divided into eight groups of four for the group stage.
During the draw, members of Fifa.com’s The Club “will have the added anxiety of awaiting the results of the ‘Who Will Face Brazil?’ contest,” according to organisers, who added that the contest “is simple: just predict which three teams you think will be drawn in host nation Brazil’s group for the 2014 Fifa World Cup before the deadline.”
The lucky winner will receive flights to and from Brazil, accommodation for three nights and a pair of tickets to the final on 13 July in Rio.
Fifa.com is also giving away 10 runners-up prizes including items signed by Brazil stars Lucio, Maicon, Kaka and Neymar, and jerseys signed by 2010 Fifa World Cup winners such as Xavi, Torres and Iker Casillas.
The full list of all prizes plus terms and conditions for the contest are available on Fifa.com.
