New info leaflet on Govt funds for growing businesses

Current business owners and prospective entrepreneurs may have more options for Government assistance than they were aware of, according to the Minister for Jobs and Enterprise.
Minister Richard Bruton was speaking in Galway at the Action Plan for Jobs 2012 Forum on 16 July, detailing 15 Government-funded opportunities for starting and growing businesses that are included in a new promotional leaflet.
“It has become clear to me that there is a serious gap in business awareness of the actual supports that already exist,” said the minister. “That is what this leaflet is about – setting out in short order what is available to help you to start or run your business successfully.”
The leaflet describes the various funding schemes that a new or established business can apply for. These include a three-year corporate tax exemption for qualifying new businesses and a €5,000 innovation voucher for established businesses looking to explore new investments.
The online version of the leaflet (available at the website
enterprise.gov.ie) provides further details about the financial assistance available and how to apply.
“I have said it many times before: Governments don’t create jobs, successful businesses do,” said Minister Bruton. “But Government can help, and this leaflet explains some of the more immediate and direct sources of support which I hope businesses can take advantage of in the coming months and years.”
