Turkish Airlines has launched routes to four new destinations to Africa and Asia.
Two new African routes include Kano in Nigeria and N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, while the Asian destinations are Kathmandu in Nepal and the Pakistani city of Lahore.
The company also said it has plans to announce more destinations before the end of the year, adding that this would strengthen its top market position.
“Turkish Airlines is flying to 240 different destinations around the world and no any other airline is flying as much as we do,” the airline told Metro Éireann.
A breakdown of its routes includes 34 in Africa, 92 in Europe and Russia, 33 in the Middle East and 29 in the Far East. There are six and two destinations in North and South America respectively, while the airline has a number of domestic routes within Turkey.
Regarding the Kano route, Turkish Airlines said the new flights to the northern Nigerian city will commence on 12 December.
The company said it is optimistic the new destination will be as successful as the other African routes it operates.
“We are the market leader and we are heavily investing in Africa destinations. Business was always good and with the new routes added it’s getting bigger and better day-by-day.”
On why passengers planning to visit the four new destinations should use Turkish Airlines, the company said: “Because we have been chosen best airline in Europe by Skytrax from 2011 to 2013, we have the best fares in the market and great connection times, and we offer a full service that is absolutely complimentary.”
