This week’s recipe is muttar paneer. This can be served with naan or biryani. You can get paneer (Indian cottage cheese) in any Asian grocery shop. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup green peas, cooked
- 1 cup paneer
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Method
Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic, and fry them on a medium flame until they are golden brown.
Next, add the tomato puree let it fry for 5 minutes. Then add all the masala powders, chilli powder, salt and 1/2 cup water.
Let it cook for 10 minutes, until the oil starts separating from the gravy. Add the paneer, peas and yogurt at this stage.
Add the cream and cook for 5 more minutes. Then garnish with coriander and serve!
Note: Cut the paneer into one-inch cubes and deep-fry them in hot oil before adding to the curry.
