A TELEVISION series which looks at four multicultural communities across Ireland returns to RTÉ One on Friday 22 April.
Meet the Neighbours, now in its second season, will put the spotlight on Carrick-on-Shannon, Dundalk, Tallaght and Shandon Street in Cork city.
The first episode features a Co Leitrim-based Malaysian chef and restaurateur Sham, who is trying to make The Cottage Restaurant a success amid recession, floods and the harshest winter in decades.
Another local, Halala, is a Kurdish teenager helping her family and community settle into life in Leitrim as well as studying at Sligo IT. As the only fluent English speaker, she becomes the interpreter for the whole community.
Also featured in the programme is Birinda, originally from India, who is planning to open a crèche but finds the myriad of paperwork, legislation and finding a property daunting.
Episode two moves to Dundalk, where Nash from China has just opened a bridal shop on the main street, and Irish Islamic convert Mohammad Salim Lennon is campaigning for a designated burial ground for Muslims in the Dundalk area.
Tallaght and Cork will be spotlighted in the final two episodes.
Meet the Neighbours begins Friday 22 April at 7.30pm on RTÉ One.
