A reception was held last week to honour a Limerick media personality and social entrepreneur who took the online media prize at the recent 2011 MAMA Awards.

Doras Luimní hosted the event to highlight the contribution of their patron and long-time friend and collaborator Richard Lynch (pictured right) of ILoveLimerick.com.
Lynch received a MAMA Award on 24 October in recognition of his work in promoting integration and diversity through online media.
The MAMA Awards celebrate and promote the contributions of individuals and organisations towards cross-cultural understanding and co-operation in Ireland since 2002.
“We are very proud of our association with Richard and we wish to show our appreciation for his tireless efforts to shine a light on the ongoing grassroots efforts to enhance community life in Limerick for all residents of the area,” said Doras Luimni in a statement.
“We think it important that Richard’s achievements be celebrated in his home-town of Limerick.”
The reception took place at the Doras Luimní offices on O’Connell Avenue in Limerick, attended by people across the city’s diverse community.
Lynch is the second Limerick journalist to be awarded a MAMA Award, following local journalist Anne Sheridan, who won in 2007 for her writing in the Limerick Leader and Limerick Chronicle newspapers.
