Maher Zain headlining concert for Syria relief

Last update - Sunday, December 1, 2013, 15:04 By Metro Éireann

Multi-platinum R&B artist Maher Zain will perform in Dublin on Saturday 2 November at a special concert in aid of humanitarian relief in Syria.

Dublin-based crisis relief charity Human Appeal Ireland is hosting the one-night-only event at Tallaght’s National Basketball Arena that brings the Lebanese-Swedish Muslim music star to Ireland for the first time.
“The importance of Irish people’s generosity to helping the people displaced by the Syrian conflict cannot be overstated,” said the charity’s Fiona Duffy, who recently returned from a trip to accompany a delivery of flour for 300,000 people in Syria’s Idleb province.
“This concert is set to raise upwards of €100,000 to go directly towards providing clothes and food [for Syrians affected by the civil war]. I would ask everyone to buy a ticket, even if they can’t attend, just to support us.”
Tickets priced at €20 (with deals including five for the price of four and family tickets for €50) are available via the Human Appeal Ireland website at humanappeal.ie or by contacting 01 291 0006, and can also be purchased from the library at Griffith College Dublin or from the box office on the day.
