Dublin Lord Mayor to open first Nigerian Irish business expo

Last update - Thursday, August 13, 2009, 01:57 By Metro Éireann

African-owned businesses in Ireland are set to experience a fresh outlook thanks to the first Nigerian Irish Expo at the RDS in Dublin this weekend. The event is being hosted by Visage World, which also presents the popular annual Best of Nigeria Expo in the UK.

Visage World executive chairman Afolabi Andu says that the idea behind extending the initiative to Ireland is based on the premise that only Africans are best suited to effectively promote African resources and potentials globally.
The Nigerian Irish Expo is intended to help businesses boost their brand awareness and enhance their market potential.
Director of Visage Ireland, Victor Ntofon, has stated that he is pleased at the response to the expo so far, nothing that Nigerian business owners in Ireland have been quite receptive and supportive.
The event will commence with a reception followed by a brief tour of the expo show floor with special guest of honour, Dublin’s Lord Mayor Cllr Emer Costello, who will cut the ribbon to officially open proceedings.
Admission is free to the expo, which opens at 12 noon on Saturday 16 August and 10am on Sunday 17 August. For more details visit nigerianirishexpo.com.
