‘Despair Not’ for debut novel from Metro Éireann reviewer

Last update - Sunday, December 1, 2013, 15:01 By Metro Éireann

Despair Not, the debut book by Murad Karim, will be launched at Blanchardstown Library at 2pm on Saturday 2 November.

Karim, who works with a Dublin city centre financial institution and is a member of the Irish Writers’ Exchange group that reviews books for Metro Éireann, said his novel is set in the Irish capital.
“Most of the action evolves in the hospital where Mathew, the central character, is hospitalised for his cancer fight,” says Karim, who adds that at the same time “it’s a story about romance and falling in love for this young man”.
It also emerges that Matthew belongs to the criminal underworld, and as his love rejects his advances, and his cancer takes a turn for the worse, “it’s a fight Mathew has to fight alone and he vows to change his life around,” says Karim.
“He wants to leave the criminal life and move on to become a decent citizen.”
Despair Not is available to purchase on Amazon.co.uk among other booksellers.
