Suicide continues to destroy the lives of hundreds of families and communities throughout Ireland every year.
Every day we here at Console, the organisation for the suicide bereaved, are faced with the irreversible trail of destruction that suicide leaves in its wake.
We are all feeling the effects of the recession, and know now is not the time to ask people to delve into their pockets to donate. Instead, all we are asking of people is their time.
We are extremely fortunate that Dunnes Stores is allowing Console to use all of its supermarkets nationwide to raise essential funds on our volunteer bag packing day on 29 August.
Through this we have the chance to raise a significant figure that will allow us to continue to support families and friends who have had their lives torn apart as a result of such a tragic loss. In addition, it will fund our work with children and young people in crisis and help prevent many suicides.
All we need now are the volunteers – just three hours of your time would make a world of difference. If can help on the day, please contact Margaret at 091 782 836 or margaret@console.ie, or Ciaran at 01 610 2638 or ciaran@console.ie.
