Craft gallery owner Ruta Kersiene on…
Her favourite pub and/or landmarkin Dublin
“Well, my favourite pub would be Johnnie Fox’s,” says Ruta, of the famous watering hole atop the Dublin Mountains which is styled as the highest pub in the country.
What does Ruta like about Johnnie Fox’s? “I really like the warm atmosphere there, not mentioning the interesting fittings with a lot of quirky old stuff.
“And of course traditional Irish music is one of my favourite features. The kitchen is amazing there too. ”
Ruta is originally from Lithuania and says anytime she receives visitors from abroad, they are always brought to Johnnie Fox’s.
Another favourite area is the beach in Donabate, the coastal town in north county Dublin where Ruta lives with her family. She particularly loves the path from Donabate to Portrane along the sea.
“Those cliffs look magnificent and I even gave one of them a name, Moira, which is the name of a Lithuanian mythological sea creature.”
Her favourite sports club in Dublin
Outside of supporting her 12-year-old son when he plays soccer with his pals, Ruta doesn’t have a particular club in Dublin that she supports or participates in.
