Since austerity began, our children have been made to pay for the greed of our politicians and bankers.
A recent survey of schools in north Co Dublin has shown that the poorest children in our communities have so far suffered some of the worst of these cuts.
Schools that are already underfunded need parental support just to pay for light and heat. Now these schools are being threatened with further cuts.
Our children are already crammed into the second-biggest classes in Europe. They only get one chance at a primary education. As a society, we need to make sure that this generation get their chance.
