The Institute of Technol-ogy Blanchardstown (ITB) has agreed a training sponsorship deal with Bohemians FC for the forthcoming Airtricity League season.
ITB will provide subsidised training facilities for the club’s first team squad, which will include its new Fifa 1 Star all-weather pitch part-funded by Fingal County Council.
Bohs will also take advantage of the students and staff in the Sports Management and Coaching degree programme at ITB who will provide fitness support to the senior and under-19 teams on an ongoing basis.
In return, ITB will receive pitch-side and match day programme advertising, along with the ITB logo on this season’s new team kit.
Bohemian FC president Matt Devaney said the club was delighted to form this new relationship with ITB.
“We have already benefited from the use of the institute’s excellent facilities in our pre-season preparations,” he said. “We were able to host several friendlies on the all-weather pitch there when Dalymount Park could not be used without great risk to the playing surface.”
Devaney added: “As a club with many young players and supporters, it means a lot to us to have a close relationship with a higher education institution, and as a club that is building its support and strengthening its community relations in north-west Dublin, ITB is a perfect fit.”
