The Irish Crimestoppers Trust has launched a special campaign to support Gardaí in their investigation into the attack of a woman in the Elm Park area of Ranelagh in the early hours of Sunday 26 October 2008.
Gardaí are seeking public assistance in identifying a male captured on CCTV in the aera at the time. The force believes he is in possession of vital information that would assist them in their investigation into the violent attack, occurred some time between 2.50am and 3am.
The man pictured is described as being 5'4" in height, of slim build, clean shaven, pale skinned and having short blonde hair. He was wearing a black waist-length jacket which was double buttoned in front, black trousers and a light coloured shirt.
Crimestoppers is also offering a €10,000 reward for information that assists Gardaí in their investigation, and posters and leaflets in English, Polish and Latvian have been distributed around the Ranelagh area.
Commenting on the appeal, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said: “We are confident that someone knows who this person is and may be aware of his present whereabouts.
