Chinese student Wu Di is adamant about the importance of integration through work or study
“It's important to try to integrate yourself into the community here as much as possible. A lot of the time Chinese people who come here don't do this, they just get a job in a Chinese restaurant or something and they don't interact with local people.
“It's a good idea to work for an Irish boss. A good level of English is very important, and you should have that before you come here. I also think it's important to work hard at your studies while you are here, so that you can go on to get a good job. Sometimes people use education just to get a visa, but that's no good.
“Parents shouldn't send their children here when they are too young. People should be adults when they come here so that they can integrate properly by working or studying.”
